HELLO CHEER FANS! Our schedule for the remainder of the season will be:

9/18/05 No Games (all are AWAY)

9/25/05 9-10A @ 11:45
11-12 @ 1:45

10/2/05 11-12 @ 1:30
13/14 @ 3:30

10/9/05 No Games (all are AWAY)

10/16/05 No Games (all are AWAY)

10/23/05 9-10B @ 11:45
9-10 A @1:45

10/30/05 11-12 @ 11:45
13-14 @ 5:15

All games are at Gladiator Field.

My expectations are that the girls arrive ON TIME, READY to cheer. This means that they have eaten and they have water bottles, appropriate SHOES, Poms, hair out of their face, and check their attitude at the gate!

The girls will be given most of half time (minus the time it takes to do their dance) and a portion of the 3rd quarter to take a break. Please do not send your girls with snacks, suckers, sunflower seeds, etc during the game. Cheer is a sport and I expect the girls to put forth 100% effort. This is impossible to accomplish with your mouth full, wondering what your next snack will be. Also, I expect the girls to stay in line with the squad for the entire game. I understand that sometimes parents want to talk to the girls and that’s fine. However, I would expect that their priority is cheer and not running “errands” or roaming around the park.

I will provide snack for the girls for the game on the 25th. If you are interested in providing a healthy snack and/or drink for any of the games, please let me know. I would appreciate the help.

I received a message from Nebraska Sports yesterday indicating that uniforms should be ready to ship. It’s my hope that we will have them ready to go for the game on the 25th. I’ll let you know more when it’s available to me. Balances will be due BEFORE the girls can have their uniforms, no exceptions.

I also encourage you all to make sure that the girls are getting to practice. It has become increasingly frustrating that I am missing ½ the squad at any given practice. We have only learned half of the cheers we should know, and even those need quite a bit of work. If they were on a sports team, coaches would expect attendance, and I expect the same.

Please feel free to call me with any questions or concerns.

CHEER UP-date

Gladiator Cheer parents & Cheerleaders,
REMEMBER, fund raising cards are due SATURDAY, AUGUST 27th between 12-3pm! I'd love for you all to participate in the "Blitz," but understand if you are unable. I hope that this fundraiser provides an opportunity to earn some CA$H for uniforms!
Also remember that practice is VERY important! I need all the girls at EVERY practice! It puts the whole squad behind when we have to teach and reteach cheers and dances! We have lots to learn, so let's be sure to get to practice!
DON'T FORGET A WATER BOTTLE!
Another reminder that I need MEASUREMENTS for all the girls! Bust, Waist, Hips and size (Girls 12, 14, Junior 3, etc).
NO PRACTICE on Saturday, September 3rd (Labor Day weekend). We will be back for practices on Tuesday, September 6th.
Let me know if there is anything that I can do to help! Have a super weekend & see you at practice!

Gladiator Cheer - Parent Meeting

Hi Parents (and girls),
Thanks for your attendance at the Gladiator Cheer Parent Meeting. I will be moving on our choice of uniforms ASAP! Remember, we decided on tennis style skirts, and tops (either a sleeveless polo or tank) with embroidery. I will also be pricing out warm up suits.
Practices will continue on Tuesday & Thursday from 6-8pm and Saturday morning from 8-10. If your daughter will miss practice, please let me know via email or phone. Remember, when the girls miss practices, it takes up time for the whole squad - to reteach cheers/dances/pom routines - so try and make it to practice! :)
REMINDER - NO PRACTICE THURSDAY AUGUST 18, 2005.
I'll try and get poms out of storage for the girls this weekend and also get cheer sheets printed off for each girl to take home and review.
FUN RAISING KICK OFF - TUESDAY, AUGUST 23, 2005 @ 6:00pm at the field. Please plan on attending this meeting! It's important for full support of the fundraiser (this will also help pay for your girls' uniforms!).
Please, send me your questions, concerns, comments if you have them...
Have a wonderful day!
Jenni

Cornhusker State Games

Welcome to Monday! It's been a very busy weekend, and I've managed to come out alive. I played in the Sand 4x4 volleyball State Games on Saturday and it was a BLISTERING 99 degrees - who knows what the temperature of the sand was. I know it was hot, hot, HOT! My teammates and I were a little slow to get started in pool play, but warmed up and played well in the tournament. We took home the "GOLD" in D class!

I made it back in time to shower and head to a good friend's wedding reception. I'll post a picture of Jeff and I just as soon as I get those photos off the Elph. :)

I hope your weekend was enjoyable - and I hope you drop me a line (via comment, email or phone) and say hi!

L8R,
Jen

Howdy! It's great to be able to put these pictures up for everyone to see!

This is a camera phone picture of the girls that particpated in this year's Gladiator Cheer Camp - "Come Alive in 2005."

From Left to Right - Naomi, Deja, Markie, MaKayla, Ashley and Taylor (bottom). All the girls did a fantastic job - learned 6 cheers, two pom routines and a full dance - all in about 6 hours!

I'm excited to see lots more girls sign up for Cheer this year! See you all at Practice!

Let's get it started!

Greetings to all!
I come to you live, from Omaha! Try the roast beef! I'll be here all week!
Seriously, I've decide to use just a pinch of technology to help keep everyone abreast of what's going on in several areas: Home, Work, and Gladiator Cheer.
I hope that this proves to be a useful tool (and that I remember to post regularly!) and that you all enjoy visiting my blog!
Ready to "Come Alive in 2005!"
